You have the choice of writing the following:

a. A biographical essay about a contributor to some aspect of graph theory, convexity, geometry, the theory of polyhedra, or discrete geometry.

b. An account of a newspaper or magazine article which deals explicitly or implicitly with an application of graph theory.

c. If you are planning to teach you can prepare a lesson plan and associated activity for students, grades K-12 (pick one particular grade), which would involve material you have learned in this course.

Length: Minimum 1000 words; no maximum.

Due Date:

by November 22, 2005 (Monday)

Notes:

a. Regard this as a first draft and we will work together towards improving the first draft. Your work can be typed or hand written, preferably the former.

Final Draft due by December 13, 2005 (Monday)

b. Do not fail to attend class on November 22 (December 13). I would rather have the draft (final version) late rather than have you cut class so that you do not have to hand it in.
